TITLE:                                          Approve agreement with Greenberg Traurig, P.A. for State Legislative Lobbyist services

Recommended Action

Approve agreement with Greenberg Traurig, P.A. for State Legislative Lobbyist services for an annual amount of $56,100 and authorize City Manager to execute any subsequent renewals under the same terms and conditions.

Background Information

At the April 9, 2019 City Commission meeting, the North Port Commission approved a new scope of services and directed the City Manager to pursue negotiation of a new contract with Greenberg Traurig, P.A. under competitive exemption for lobbying services per City Procurement Code.

The City Manager completed negotiations for a new agreement with Greenberg Traurig, P.A. to provide State Lobbyist services under the new scope of service for the current rate of $4,675.00 monthly or $56,100 per year.  The new agreement is a three-year agreement with one three-year renewal upon mutual agreement.

Staff recommends approval of the agreement as it is fiscally responsible and in the best interest of the City to retain Greenberg Traurig, P.A. for State Lobbyist services without an increase in the current rate of compensation.

The Agreement has been reviewed and approved by Legal as to form and correctness.
