Recommended Action

 

Approve the award of Request for Bid 2022-01 - Water and Wastewater Treatment Chemicals to Allied Universal Corporation, Amaya Solutions, Inc. d/b/a American Water Chemicals, Brenntag Mid-South, Inc, Chemtrade Chemicals U.S. LLC., Donau Carbon U.S. LLC., Hawkins, Inc. and Polydyne, Inc by line-item pricing on an “as-needed” basis for a term through and including December 31, 2024, with options to renew for two (2) additional one (1) year terms; and authorize the City Manager to approve future renewals.

 

Background Information

 

The Department of Utilities purchases various chemicals each year for the City of North Port’s water and wastewater treatment facilities. These chemicals are critical in the Department of Utilities’ ability to produce potable water at the City’s water treatment plant as well as process wastewater at the City’s reclamation facilities.

 

In order to secure competitive pricing on these critical supplies, Request for Bid No. 2022-01 - Water and Wastewater Treatment Chemicals was advertised on September 22, 2021. Twelve Bids were received and opened on October 26, 2021. Staff reviewed the submittals and recommends the award of bids as follows:

As permitted by the City of North Port Procurement Code a Purchase Order will be issued upon award of this bid.

 

The submitted Bid Form signed by the Bidder, together with the complete Bid package and addenda furnished by the City and Purchase Order shall constitute a binding Contract. The initial term of award is from the date of City Commission approval, through and including December 31, 2024, and may be renewed at the same terms and conditions for two (2) additional one-year terms. Price adjustment will be considered if submitted per the terms of the Request for Bid.
