TITLE: Approve the Terms and Conditions & End User License Agreement With Arcadis U.S., Inc. for the City’s Participation in the Statewide Florida 511 System for the Communication of Travel Advisories Related to North Port Roadways.
Recommended Action
Approval of the Terms and Conditions & End User License Agreement with Arcadis U.S., Inc. for the City’s participation in the statewide Florida 511 system for the communication of travel advisories related to North Port roadways.
Background Information
The City’s Communication Division of the City Manager’s Department and Department of Public Works are collaborating with Arcadis U.S., Inc. (Arcadis), a national vendor that provides the technology platform for Florida 511, the statewide traffic reporting system. Florida 511 is a free service that helps motorists travel safely and efficiently throughout the state. The Florida Department of Transportation contracts with Arcadis to share travel advisories with the public via the Florida 511 platform. Users can download the Florida 511 app or receive notifications via email, text alert and social media.
Arcadis is seeking to include travel advisories from local municipalities in addition to updates on state roads, adding value to its service. There is no cost to the City for participation, but the partnership requires approval of the Terms and Conditions & End User License Agreement (Agreement) by Commission. This Agreement gives City staff the ability to access the Florida 511 platform and share information about North Port road closures or detours to reach a greater segment of the public.
The Terms and Conditions & End User License Agreement with Arcadis U.S., Inc. for the City’s participation in the statewide Florida 511 system for the communication of travel advisories related to North Port roadways has been reviewed by the Interim City Attorney and is legally correct as to form.
