Recommended Action

 

Approve Contract No. 2020-15 Roadway Culvert Replacement to David Kuxhausen Construction, LLC in the amount of $288,500.00 and contingency in the amount of $28,850.00 for a total amount of $317,350.00.

 

Background Information

 

Request for Bid (RFB) No. 2020-15 was opened on September 17, 2019. Five (5) submittals were received from Pavement Maintenance, LLC; Spectrum Underground; C-Squared Certified General Contractors; Dave Foote Construction and David Kuxhausen Construction, LLC.  David Kuxhausen Construction, LLC was the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. The Contract will consist of the replacement of several roadway pipe culverts that recently collapsed at Orlando Boulevard, Richbriar Drive and Sawyer Circle. Work shall commence at an agreed upon date between the City and David Kuxhausen Construction, LLC, and shall be completed within 180 calendar days after the issuance of the Notice to Proceed. 

 

The contract has been reviewed by the City Attorney as to form and correctness.

Funding in the amount of $317,350.00 is available in the Fiscal Year 2020 Road and Drainage District  Budget, Project Number R19DSI, Drainage System Improvements,  account number 107-5000-541.63-00, Road and Drainage District Fund/Road and Drainage Infrastructure.

RFB No. 2020-15 was procured pursuant to Section 2-404 of the City of North Port Procurement Code - Competitive Sealed Bid Process.
