                     Pros: The comprehensive staff analysis concluded that there are no identifiable pros to the denial of Resolution No. 2025-R-69.

                     Cons: Denying Resolution No. 2025-R-69 would create a hardship for the property owner.

 

Background Information

 

On March 20, 2025, the Planning and Zoning Division of the Development Services Department of the City of the North Port received an application petitioning the City of North Port to grant a vacation for the platted 10-foot utility and drainage easement lying adjacent to the westerly line of Lot 20 Block 1159, 25th Addition to Port Charlotte Subdivision. The purpose of this vacation of easement request is to construct a new single-family residence. The area of this utility and drainage easement proposed to be vacated encompasses approximately 934.65 square feet. The subject property is zoned Residential, Low (R-1) with a Future Land Use designation of Low Density Residential (LDR).
