Background Information

The State and Local Cybersecurity Grant Program (SLCGP) provides funding to state and local government agencies to strengthen cybersecurity practices and resilience. Through funding from the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA), also known as the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL), the SLCGP enables state and local governments to improve the security of critical infrastructure and improve resilience of services provided to our communities.

The IT Department will use funding from the State and Local Cybersecurity Grant Program for the purchase and implementation of a managed SIEM tool, allowing continuous 24x7 monitoring of the cyber environment. The City expects to receive $81,000.  Matching funds in the amount of $9,000 are required and available.

Funds will be provided from the granting agency for implementation of this project upon award notification. The grant application was submitted October 31, 2022. Notification of award is expected between early winter and spring 2023.

If awarded, the City Attorney will review the contract for legal form.
