TITLE:                     Approve the Disposition of Surplus Fleet Assets in an Appropriate Fashion Pursuant to Chapter 2 Administration, Article VIII Procurement, Section 2-419, Disposition of City Assets and Property (d), (1) of the Code of the City of North Port, Florida, and Authorize the City Manager to Approve a More Suitable Surplus Asset for Project Graduation if One Becomes Available.
 
Recommended Action
 
Approve the disposition of surplus fleet assets in an appropriate fashion pursuant to Chapter 2 Administration, Article VIII Procurement, Section 2-419, Disposition of City Assets and Property (d), (1) of the Code of the City of North Port, Florida, and authorize the City Manager to approve a more suitable surplus asset for project graduation if one becomes available.
 
Background Information
 
The Fleet Manager and Fleet Acquisition Specialist have evaluated the City’s vehicle and equipment inventory and prepared the Asset Disposition and Recommended Method of Disposal Report. The Fire Rescue District and Police Department have reviewed the list of vehicles recommended for disposal and determined they have no need for the assets for training purposes.  The Department of Public Works reached out to Citywide Departments to evaluate if these assets could be utilized to meet the needs of any other area and no additional needs were identified. 
 
The Fleet Management Division of the Department of Public Works has identified the following vehicle to be donated to the North Port High School for Project Graduation.

Fleet Management requests that the City Commission allow the City Manager to approve a more suitable asset if one is identified for surplus prior to the Project Graduation event.

Revenue will be received by the Departments that turned in the equipment being auctioned. There will be no revenue for the donated vehicle.

Surplus assets will be disposed of in accordance with Chapter 2 Administration, Article VIII Procurement, Section 2-419, Disposition of City Assets and Property (d), (1) of the Code of the City of North Port, Florida.
