Background Information
Over the last several years the City of North Port has experienced exponential growth in population, this growth increases the need for services. After identifying a community gap in terms of funding and available resources for our City of North Port residents and seniors, the Social Services Division created drop in offices for agencies to utilize. The agencies are allowed to use this designated office space for no more than 20 hours per week and are required to provide services or resources free of charge to residents.
Potential interested agencies include The Area Agency on Aging (AAA) to provide services to our seniors regarding their health and insurance benefits and the US Department of Veterans Affairs Office to provide counseling services to area Veterans. This crucial union between the City of North Port Social Services Division and area agencies is essential in expanding services to our vulnerable populations.
