and the City of North Port Fire Rescue District Addressing Air Traffic Patterns for Heliports.
Background Information
Sarasota Memorial Health Care Center & ER at North Port and Sarasota Memorial Health Care System has a new heliport at the Sarasota Memorial Hospital North Port location at 2345 Bobcat Village Rd, North Port FL 34288. The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Rule 14-60.005(5)(j), F.A.C., requires that public airport site approval applications include supporting documentation regarding air traffic patterns. This rule provision requires that the applicant, Sarasota Memorial Health Care Center & ER at North Port and Sarasota Memorial Health Care System, provide a copy of written memorandum of understanding or letter of agreement, signed by each respective party, regarding air traffic pattern separation procedures between the parties representing the proposed airport and any existing airport(s) or approved airport site(s) located within three miles of the proposed site.
There are two registered heliport sites for North Port Fire Rescue that fall within three miles of the new Sarasota Memorial site.
Station 81 - 4980 City Center Blvd (2.81 nautical miles)
Station 84 - 1350 Citizens Parkway (.62 nautical miles)
