City Commission Options

* Pros: The budget will be approved as prepared by the North Port Road and Drainage District and approved by the City Manager, ensuring timely adoption.
* Cons: If the City Commission wishes to adjust the budget allocation, those changes will need to be included in the motion at this meeting and the Resolution and Exhibit will be amended.
Option 2: Amend the budget for the Road and Drainage District

* Pros: Allows the City Commission to revise the North Port Road and Drainage District budget to better reflect a change in priorities.
* Cons: Amended budget might not reflect the priorities as proposed by the North Port Road and Drainage District and approved by the City Manager.
Background Information
The final budget for the North Port Road and Drainage District is $30,928,880 which is a decrease of $16,752,436 from the Fiscal Year 2024-2025 amended budget. This represents a 15% increase to the North Port Road and Drainage District assessment rate over the prior year assessment rate.
There are no changes to the tentative budget included in Resolution No. 2025-R-55, adopting the tentative North Port Road and Drainage District Budget for the Fiscal Year Beginning October 1, 2025, and Ending September 30, 2026.
Resolution No. 2025-R-58 has been reviewed by the Interim City Attorney and is legally correct as to form.
Pursuant to Florida Statutes Section 166.041(4)(c), a business impact estimate is not required because this Ordinance relates to the adoption of budgets or budget amendments, including revenue sources necessary to fund the budget.
