TITLE:                     Approve the Memorandum of Understanding for Participation in the Finder Data Sharing Network (Florida) between Finder Software Solutions, LLC and the City of North Port, at an Annual Cost of $2,500.

 

 

Recommended Action

 

Approve the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for Participation in the Finder Data Sharing Network (Florida) between Finder Software Solutions, LLC and the City of North Port, at an annual cost of $2,500.

 

Background Information

 

FINDER® is an information sharing system developed more than 20 years ago through the cooperative efforts of Florida law enforcement agencies and the University of Central Florida. FINDER was built by law enforcement, for law enforcement, to provide a collaborative framework for the sharing of police records and other data sources to increase officer safety, maximize investigator efficiency, and reduce crime. The cost of FINDER® is for maintaining the information sharing network. 

 

This is a renewal for the MOU already in place. The only change is to the term; unless terminated by either party this MOU will automatically renew for successive one-year periods at the then-current subscription rate. Finder Software Solutions, LLC will notify participating agencies at least ninety (90) days prior to any anticipated price increase.

 

The MOU for Participation in the Finder Data Sharing Network (Florida) between Finder Software Solutions, LLC and the City of North Port has been reviewed by the City Attorney and is legally correct as to form.

Maintain the adopted level of health and public safety services.

 

Financial Impact

 

The recurring cost for accessing this important database is $2,500 annually. This will be funded through the Police Department budget, account 001-2100-521-46-01.

 

Procurement

 

This procurement is being made in accordance with the procurement thresholds provided in the Purchasing Procedure Manual and is under the dollar threshold requiring a competitive solicitation.
