Recommended Action

 

Option 1: Adopt Resolution No. 2026-R-63 as presented.

                     Pros: The budget will be approved as prepared by the District and approved by the City Manager, ensuring timely adoption without further modifications.

                     Cons: If the City Commission wishes to adjust budget allocation, those changes will need to be included in the motion at this meeting and the Resolution and Exhibit will be amended.

 

Option 2: Amend the budget for final adoption. 

 

                     Pros: Allows the City Commission to revise the District budget to better reflect its priorities.

                     Cons: Amended budget might not reflect the priorities proposed by the District and approved by the City Manager. 

 

Background Information

 

The final budget as presented for the Fiscal Year 2026-2027 Road and Drainage District is $37,162,521. This represents a 20% increase from the Fiscal Year 2025-2026 adopted budget. 

 

During the Road and Drainage District Governing Body Meeting held on September 10, 2026, a motion was made and approved to amend the tentative budget in Resolution No. 2026-R-58. The amendment reduced the tentative budget by $1,097,711 from $38,260,232 to $37,162,521.
