Background Information
In November 2022, the U.S. Department of Veteran’s Affairs entered into a Drop-In Office Agreement with the City of North Port Social Services Division for use of space at the Family Service Center. The U.S. Department of Veteran’s Affairs, through the Sarasota Vet Center, holds Readjustment Counseling services for veterans at the Family Service Center. This service is free to participants and is an important resource for our local veterans.
To remain in compliance with its record keeping and internal audit requirements, the U.S. Department of Veteran’s Affairs requires a Revocable License for Use of Property to be executed. The First Amendment to the Drop-In Office Agreement included Exhibit A to incorporate the Revocable License for Use of Property and was approved on November 14, 2023.
The First Amendment to the Veterans Affairs Drop-In Office Agreement and Exhibit A - Revocable License has since expired and a new drop-in office agreement was created to include Exhibit A as well as extend the terms of the agreement.
The Veterans Affairs Drop-In Office Agreement has been reviewed by the City Attorney and is legally correct as to form.
The Veterans Affairs Drop-In Office Agreement was provided to the City Clerk’s Office on _________, for signature subject to City Commission approval.
