Recommended Action
Option 1: Approve the Fifth Amended Lease Agreement By and between the City of North Port, Florida, and the North Port Senior Center, Inc., at the Community Education Center, located at 4970 Pan American Boulevard, North Port, Florida, 34287, allowing for a two-month lease extension through August 31, 2026.

• Cons: Could result in service disruptions and operational challenges during peak summer programming at the George Mullen Activity Center.
Background Information
During the December 1, 2025, City Commission Workshop, the Commission made a consensus to “direct the City Manager to work with the North Port Senior Center to move its operations to the George Mullen Activity Center and to explore the move with either City staff managing the programming or the Senior Center to continue managing the programming.”
During subsequent monthly meetings, the Senior Center indicated a preference to defer relocation until after the Parks & Recreation summer camp program concludes. This timing is intended to support a smoother transition for both the Senior Center and the Parks & Recreation Department at the George Mullen Activity Center.
The Fifth Amended Lease Agreement by and between the City of North Port, Florida and the North Port Senior Center, Inc., at the Community Education Center, located at 4970 Pan American Boulevard, North Port, Florida, 34287, allowing for a two-month lease extension through August 31, 2026, has been reviewed by the City Attorney and is legally correct as to form.
The Fifth Amended Lease Agreement by and between the City of North Port, Florida, and the North Port Senior Center, Inc., at the Community Education Center, located at 4970 Pan American Boulevard, North Port, Florida, 34287, allowing for a two-month lease extension through August 31, 2026, was provided to the City Clerk's Office on April 9, 2026, for signature, subject to City Commission approval.
