Recommended Action
Option 1: Discussion and possible action regarding proposed changes to the City Fee Schedule, Appendix A to the Code of the City of North Port, Florida, including, but not limited to, Development Services, Fire Rescue, Parks and Recreation, Facility Rental, Solid Waste, Road and Drainage, and Utility fees.
City Commission Options
Option 1: Discussion and possible action regarding proposed changes to the City Fee Schedule, Appendix A to the Code of the City of North Port, Florida, including, but not limited to, Development Services, Fire Rescue, Parks and Recreation, Facility Rental, Solid Waste, Road and Drainage, and Utility fees

• Pros: Allows the Commission to review and provide direction on multiple fee categories at once, promoting efficiency and transparency.
• Cons: Broad scope may lengthen discussion, create confusion over specific fees, and delay final decisions.
Option 2: Decline to provide action on the proposed amendments to the City Fee Schedule, Appendix A to the Code of the City of North Port, Florida.
• Pros: Allows the Commission additional time to consider the proposed fee changes and request further analysis or clarification.
• Cons: Delays the Ordinance process and adoption timeline.
Background Information
In connection with the City’s budget development process for Fiscal Year 2026-2027, staff reviewed the fees charged for services provided by the City. The Fiscal Year 2026-2027 Appendix A - Proposed Fee Changes (attached) outlines the proposed changes to various departmental fees.
Concurrently, the Development Services staff are conducting a Comprehensive User Fee Study for the Department. The results of this Study will be presented to the City Commission at a later date.
Upon direction from the City Commission, the proposed fees will be incorporated into the City-Wide Fee Ordinance. The Ordinance will be presented to the City Commission for first reading on June 23, 2026, and for adoption at second reading on July 21, 2026.
