TO: Honorable Mayor & Members of the North Port Commission
FROM: A. Jerome Fletcher II, ICMA-CM, MPA, City Manager
TITLE: Approve the Second Amendment to Contract No. 2020-56 School Crossing Guard Services for Purposes of Increasing the Hourly Billing Rate from $21.30 an Hour to $28.30 an Hour.
Recommended Action
Approve the Second Amendment to Contract No. 2020-56 for School Crossing Guard Services for Purposes of Increasing the Hourly Billing Rate from $21.30 an hour to $28.30 an hour.
Background Information
In July 2020, the Commission approved the Agreement for School Crossing Guard Services with Waterfield Florida Staffing, LLC d/b/a Action Labor of Florida d/b/a Staffing Connection (“Contractor”) for an initial term of three years. At the beginning of the third year, the Commission approved the first amendment to the contract approving a rate increase from $17.50 to $21.30.
Pursuant to the terms of the original contract, the Contractor and City Manager renewed the contract for an additional two-year term. The Contractor is currently requesting a rate increase from $21.30 an hour to $28.30 an hour. The rate change is requested due to the cost of living and the Florida minimum wage increase.
The Second Amendment has been reviewed by the City Attorney and is legally correct as to form.
