• Cons: Providing discounted access to City-owned property through a Lease Agreement with the Safe Place and Rape Crisis Center, Inc. limits the City’s ability to use the space for staff or programs, or to make it available to another entity to offer alternative services to residents.

• Cons: Limits access of supportive services to domestic and sexual violence survivors in our community.
Background Information
Safe Place and Rape Crisis Center, Inc. provides free services to victims of domestic and sexual violence and promotes a violence free community through public awareness and education.
The original tenant Lease Agreement expired on October 31, 2024. The First Amendment extended the lease term by one additional year and expired on October 31, 2025. The Second Amendment extended the lease term by another additional year and expires on October 31, 2026. This Third Amendment will extend the lease term by another additional year and will expire on October 31, 2027. The lease amount of $114/per month is unchanged from the previous Lease Agreement. Once a City-wide Standardized Lease Policy takes effect, the Lease Agreement will need to be presented to Commission under the new terms.
