Approve Work Assignment 2024-01 with Kimley-Horn, in the amount of $205,749.00, for the Water Distribution System Improvements Project.
Background Information
North Port Utilities owns and operates an extensive potable water distribution system within the City of North Port. Several areas throughout the distribution system have dead-ends and require additional segments of water main to loop the system, thereby reducing flushing efforts and improving water quality. The following provides a chronological order of events regarding the Request for Letters of Interest (RLI) process for this project:
Ø July 21, 2023: Request for Letters of Interest 2024-01 for the Water Distribution System Improvements Project was issued to the eight firms under Category 2 of Continuing Contract 2020-58, to secure professional engineering services to design, bid and provide construction phase services for the project.
Ø August 25, 2023: Five (5) Letters of Interest were received and evaluated.
Ø September 27, 2023: Kimley-Horn was selected to proceed with development of a scope and fee schedule.
After careful review of the scope and fee for the project, the Department of Utilities recommends Kimley-Horn be awarded Work Assignment 2024-01 for this project, in the amount of $205,749.00.

Procurement
Continuing Contract No. 2020-58-10 was procured pursuant to Sec. 2-406 Professional services selection under Consultants’ Competitive Negotiation Act (CCNA), F.S. § 287.055. Work Assignment No. 2024-01 was issued under Continuing Contract No. 2020-58-10.
