Background Information
The Florida League of Cities (FLC) will hold its 2025 Legislative Conference on December 4–5, 2025, in Orlando. This annual event gathers City leaders across the state to finalize and adopt the League’s legislative priorities, as well as to strategize collaboration with state legislators.
Coinciding with this, the FLC's Legislative Policy Committees, Commission is scheduled to meet on December 4, 2025, during the Legislative Conference. These meetings are essential for developing the League’s Legislative Platform. They involve detailed deliberation on priority policy issues facing municipalities statewide.
Recognition of these overlapping schedules highlights that the City Commission Regular Meeting, originally set for December 4, 2025, would conflict with the FLC’s key activities. Given the importance of participating in FLC’s Legislative Conference and Policy Committee Meetings for shaping municipal advocacy and policymaking, it is appropriate to either cancel or reschedule the December 4, 2025, City Commission Regular Meeting (Ceremonial Meeting) to ensure full support and involvement in these critical statewide efforts.
