Approve the Shared Facility Agreement - North Port Fire Station No. 86 between the City of North Port and Sarasota County addressing joint use of operational areas, responsibilities of both parties, and an annual rental fee starting at $45,000.00 in Fiscal Year 2023.

Background Information

On April 12, 2022, the City Commission approved the conveyance of the new Public Safety building at 19955 Preto Boulevard. North Port Fire Rescue as well as Sarasota County Fire Department immediately moved personnel and equipment into the new fire station. Prior to this new fire station, North Port Fire Rescue responded to calls for service out of Sarasota County Fire Station #26 located near State College of Florida.

This agreement was drafted to clearly define duties and responsibilities of the City of North Port, Sarasota County, as well as the personnel from each agency that will be providing service from this fire station. This agreement includes, but is not limited to, daily duties, assigned workstations, co-habitation of joint use areas, apparatus requirements, staffing requirements, service levels of personnel, building maintenance, and annual rent to be paid to the City of North Port.

This document has been reviewed and approved by the City Attorney as to form and correctness.
