Background Information

This presentation of recognition was requested by Stacy Aloisio, Emergency Manager.

Stacy Aloisio, Mike Nevarez, AJ Brown, and Cheryl Greiner have received historical recognition from the Florida Division of Emergency Management for their contributions to disaster response and recovery efforts. This recognition honors their dedication to public service and their commitment to assisting Florida communities in times of need.

The State of Florida is vulnerable to disasters that can significantly affect residents, infrastructure, and essential services. Effective response and recovery rely on mutual aid, through which communities support one another by sharing personnel, expertise, and resources. The service of these four individuals reflects the importance of that shared commitment.

Mutual aid deployments also provide valuable learning opportunities and help forge partnerships statewide. By working alongside professionals from other communities, participants share experience, strengthen their skills, and develop relationships that support collaboration during future emergencies.

For the City, this recognition highlights the dedication of its personnel and the value of participating in statewide mutual aid efforts. The experience and partnerships developed through these deployments can strengthen local preparedness, response, and recovery capabilities. Recognizing these individuals celebrates their service while reinforcing the City’s commitment to protecting residents and supporting communities throughout Florida.
