Background Information
The purpose of this City Commissioners Retreat is to provide an overview of the City of North Port’s Charter, related administrative City policies regarding the roles and responsibilities of Charter Officers and Commissioners including:
Ø Review of governance information presented at the City Commissioners Retreat held on December 3, 2024.
Ø Presentation of the Florida forms of government and governance-administration structures.
Ø How other Florida local governments address Commission-Employee communications.
Ø Recommended strategies to address Commission-Employee communications going forward.
Ø Next steps.
The City Commissioners Retreat will be designed to provide a free-flowing discussion with participants throughout the review of the topics listed above.
