Recommended Action
Present the Key to the City to Fred Tower III (Posthumously).
Background Information
This item was requested by Mayor Langdon and approved by the Commission on January 24, 2023. Mr. Tower has been a true servant leader in our community for decades. He served as a North Port City Commissioner; and sat on many advisory committees and non-profit boards. He was an energetic supported of the Chamber of Commerce and a major donor to their building fund. He was also a member of the Board of Trustees of the Englewood Hospital and worked hard to bring a hospital to the city, a dream that is now coming to fruition. He was a mentor to many and a friend to all.
